Job Overview:
The Developer Merchandiser serves as a key liaison between brands and factories, overseeing sample development and ensuring production meets company quality standards. This role demands strong leadership, meticulous attention to detail, and effective communication to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with the ability to drive results through clear communication and structured project management while maintaining firm yet professional relationships with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Brand Communication & Documentation Management
- Respond to brand inquiries within 24 hours and maintain communication logs.
- Schedule and lead weekly calls with brand managers.
- Adhere to email protocols and professional business communication standards.
2. Sample Development Oversight
- Track and update sample status daily.
- Coordinate with factory sample rooms and maintain photo records.
- Manage various sample types: confirmation, fitting, salesmen, and TOP samples.
- Work closely with QC and Production teams to ensure timely development.
3. Production Coordination
- Conduct weekly factory visits and update production schedules.
- Maintain production status reports.
- Implement a color-coded tracking system for order statuses.
- Coordinate inspections and quality control with QC teams.
4. Material & Quality Control Management
- Maintain Material Swatch Book and track approvals.
- Monitor material testing and delivery timelines.
- Evaluate material quality and manage supplier coordination.
- Ensure compliance with QIMA and quality control documentation.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in footwear merchandising, product development, and factory coordination.
- Strong understanding of technical documentation, quality control, and production timelines.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Drive.
- Experience with QIMA or similar quality management systems.
- Strong database and email management capabilities.
